01Why Updates and Backups Cannot Wait
WordPress, themes and plugins receive regular updates, many of them security fixes. Skipping them leaves known weaknesses open, and automated bots scan the web constantly looking for sites that are behind. But updating blindly is risky too, because one incompatible plugin can break a layout or a checkout. Good maintenance balances both: apply updates promptly, test key pages and forms afterward, and keep a recent backup ready if anything goes wrong.
Backups are only useful if they work. We store them off-site, separate from your hosting account, and test restores periodically so we know the process is reliable. If a site is hacked, corrupted or broken by a bad update, a clean backup can turn a disaster into a short interruption. Without one, recovery can mean rebuilding pages from memory and losing recent content, orders or form submissions.
